My Wife and Daughter

I must tell you the story of my wife and daughter. I will start out by telling you how I met my wife. On December 5, 2001, I was walking to a friends house to chat with him. As I was walking up to his yard a very beautiful girl stopped me to ask me who and what I wanted. Come to find out this is his step-sister. So I tell her who I am and what I want. Well he isn't home. I don't feel like going home just yet so I ask her to take a walk with me. So she says yes and I can't believe it. Well from then on that was it. I knew she was the one. I ask her to marry me about two and a half months later. Problem is I have no ring to give her, plus I leave for Army basic training in a month. Luckly though she still accepted.

Let me tell you, staying away from her the three and half months I was gone from basic training and advanced indivitual training wasn't very fun. Look at me talking about three and a half months, when I will not see her or my daughter for another nine months. Anyway, back to my story. I come back from basic in June. We want to go ahead and get married, but I want her to have a ring first. Plus, I was wanting it to be a real wedding. Well September 27, 2002 rolled around and we couldn't wait anymore. So we went ahead and got married. In February of 2003 we get our own place. Real small, I mean real small. The kitchen, living room, and bedroom where all in one room. The only things that had there own room was the closet and the bathroom. Which wasn't heaven may I tell you. There was no tub, just a walk in shower. Well my wife comes up pregnant in June halting my college for a while. So in September we move in with my mother again. I felt I needed to provide for my family first, so I decided to drop out of college and get a full time job. In January of 2004 we moved into a decent two bedroom, real bathroom and kitchen apartment.

Come the best day of my life. April 6, 2004, the lord brings forth my daughter. I am thankful for the privalege of being her father. Four days later I leave for my two week annual training. From there I recieve the news that my unit is on alert. We find out we leave in August. This only gives me four months to spend time with my wife and daughter. Well I think you can figure the rest out. I am now halfway around the world. Miles upon miles away from my family. I sit here writting you good people, my fellow americans. Every stroke of the keys is a blessing god gives me to keep living the life I live. I will never give up the fight for the freedom we all sahre everyday of our lives. I hope and pray I will return home safe to my family, and I hope you too will pray for my safe return. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

You know, although that was a very sad post in a way - it also made me think of what a wonderful husband and father you must be. Nowadays it seems like that is hard to find, so I am very happy for your wife and daughter. Keep on trucking, life only gets better if you want it to. ;)
